He was happy to be a foster kid into he found out how people treat them. So he stared tyo think he"s not going to be anything in life. He started to hang with the big kids and he started to steal. and he really didnt care about school anymore. so now he's jumping from house to house meeting new foster familys. While his behavior as a child left a lot to be desired, he continued to persevere and make something of his life. This book contained just as much heart-wrenching turmoil as in A Child Called "It". David's childhood years were continually spoiled by almost every classmate or friend he tried to make. His desire to have a place to call "home" was consequential, but something always seemed to get in the way. All he wanted to do was to fit into this world - just like everybody else. (  ) MsZellner | May 8, 2009 | Student Review: The Lost Boy by Dave Pelzer, the sequel to A Child Called "It," is a true story about Dave, who was abused by his mother at the age of 12, then placed in five different homes with foster parents. The book goes through a period of his life between ages 12 and 18. I really liked this book because it shows how Dave had the courage to leave his abusive mother and try to move on with his life without being scared or worried if she will get him back. This book shows how he grew up and how he experienced things and how he changed as a person. I really loved this book as much as the first. It saddens me to think that people can actually be this way. I think back to my childhood and praise God that it wasn't that bad.
This book could be used to show how what happens to us as children leave an imprint on the rest of our lives. It also shows that every person is different and those differences need to be taken into consideration when playing with friends.
