Everything about this book is a Hallmark Christmas movie... and even though I know how things are going to end up, I enjoy it anyways. This is no exception. A nanny wishing for a new job, a single father with two kids who doesn't spend enough time with them... Um... Yep, Hallmark. Need I say more?

Thank you for allowing me to read this and give my opinion. ( )

I was really disappointed with A Christmas to Remember. I thought it would be light and sweet and get me into the holiday mood. Unfortunately, I was just annoyed by it. I hated the main character, Carrie. She seemed completely unprofessional and I thought she was probably in need of some mental help. She’s a nervous wreck through most of the book, second guessing herself constantly. She falls for the father, Adam, pretty much at the very beginning, even though he’s done nothing to deserve any kind of affection. In fact, he seems pretty self-absorbed. However, she is somehow sure he’s a wonderful guy despite her frequent anger with him for working all the time and not spending more time with his children.

She takes it upon herself to change him and fix the relationship between him and his kids. That could be endearing I guess if she didn’t take it so personal every time he chooses work over family time. Her feelings about Adam gave me whiplash as she went from saying he was a wonderful guy and soooo nice and caring, to feeling like he was a jerk who was selfish and didn’t care about his family. On top of that was her incredibly low self-esteem. She mooned over Adam, and fantasized about the two of them having a relationship. However, when he did start making advances toward her, she was so insecure that she would dismiss them no matter how forward they were. It drove me crazy! No matter what he did, she was convinced he didn’t like her.

I should have had some clue that this chick was crazy from the beginning of the first chapter, as it begins with a quote from a self-help book. She says at multiple points in the book that she only reads self-help books and has a ton of them piled up in her car. I’ve got a little advice for her…give up on the self-help books, honey, and get a therapist already! I was so glad to finish this book and get out of her head that I actually cheered, startling my husband. So I guess the book did cheer me up after all, but only after the weight of reading it was lifted.

Wow. My advice on A Christmas to Remember is to avoid it at all costs, it will suck the happiness right out of you and leave you frustrated and annoyed.

Sissy: Carrie launches! The journey towards her “getting a life-age” is made enjoyable by her blossoming relationship with the children and her subtle insinuation into Alex’s heart. And it doesn’t end exactly like you might imagine.
Bubby: There’s a scene at the very end, where the “happy ending” finally takes place, that is just the sweetest and most charming paragraph I’ve read in a long time. Again, I’d say more, but spoilers! And Sissy gets violent when I give the ending away, so I’ll just say Merry Christmas! Read full review at www.bubblebath-books.com ( )

Carrie Blake is a nanny. She has been a nanny since she graduated from college. Now she is heading to her last job. Once she gets there she realize that she has her work cut out for her. Carrie sees that the father and the children really don't know each other. So it's her goal before Christmas to get them together and she might have some help with this by way of his family. His family will be spending the holidays with them. Is Carrie getting in way over her head in this job?

Adam Fletcher is a single dad who has his kids for Christmas for the first time. He hires Carrie to tae care of the kids for the holidays., cause he will be working most of the holidays. and his family will be there. The real reason is cause he's a workaholic and he really doesn't know his children. But things start to change little by little once Carrie arrives. But is this change for the better or not?

This is my first time reading anything by this author and I loved it. I really enjoyed reading this boo. I can't wait to read more by this author. I will be adding this author to my favorites. I highly recommend this boo to others to read. ( )

I received this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Carrie loves children and her job as a nanny, and she loves Christmas. However, though she is pursuing her love of children as a nanny, she is not finding any love of her life and is not settling into careers and families as her friends are. She accepts a short term job with Adam Fletcher, a wealthy divorced father of young twins. From the get-go, Carrie and the twins bond. However, Carrie notices their father is mostly pre-occupied with his brewing business and spends little or no time with the twins. To make matters worse, Adam Fletcher routinely shows the children that his job is far more important than they are. To compound matters, with the holidays approaching, Adam’s mother father, grandfather, sister and brother-in-law descend on the family for the holidays. Not being shy, Carrie lets dam know his priorities are wrong, that he really needs to spend more quality time with his children. Can Carrie change Adam into a loving, caring father? He already cares, but he never shows it, so half her battle is won. This is a fantastic holiday story about one family’s needs and one temporary nanny’s tries to get them met. I loved the way the author drew the reader in from the start. However, I wondered many times just how far Adam would let this outspoken woman go before firing her and sending her packing. Probably the only thing that kept her in his house many times was the strong bond she established with his children and, once they arrived, with his family. Though Carrie and Adam danced around their budding relationship for most of the book, the chemistry between them was evident from the start. The character development for the main four characters (Adam, Carrie and the twins) was superb. The addition of Adam’s family only added to the story’s enjoyment and provided some nice interludes to the story. This is definitely a keeper holiday story, one that will stay with the reader well beyond the last page and will provide immense enjoyment during the holiday season ad any other time it is read. I look forward to the follow-on story, which the author mentioned briefly at the end of the book. ( )
