But - If you know how I rate you will note there's limited amount of books in a series that will receive better ratings for the 2nd book. Usually there's nothing wrong with the second book, and I am sure there will be thousands of people loving this installment, and disagreeing with me, I liked book 2 well enough but not as much as book 1. These beautiful words I just need to share!! ??I see someone, who even though thereÂ??s not a chance in this world I could ever be good enough to have herÂ??good enough to hold herÂ??thatÂ??s all I want to do. I see someone I want to protect and love and fight for.Â? Tears streamed down her cheeks. She edged even closer and let her legs slip over the side. I settled myself between her knees and met the storm in her eyes. Â??I see beauty and light.Â? Those eyes flashed, and emotion crushed my ribs. This girl had me twisted up in every way possible My mind and my heart and my words. Â??I see my wife. I see the mother of my kids. I see all the shit I never wanted until I met you. I see everything I thought impossible.Â? For me this was an emotional roller coaster read Everyone knows I don't do the mushy or sweet romance, but when it comes to A.L. Jackson, I will always read her stories, no matter what they are. She is one of those authors who has such a way with words you find yourself in love and in awe of her writing. You can't help but to want to devour everything she writes. This story is more that what I expected, although I wasn't totally sure what to expect. I just know that I got more that what I could have anticiapated. This series is one of those series where you feel just about everything the characters are going through. Their stories and personalities are not over-exaggerated. They are totally real and relatable. Shea is one of those characters that I really didn't care for, but I could find myself feeling sorry for her. There were moments where I thought she was being over dramatic, but then the more I thought about the situation, I could admit that I would probably react in a similar manner. Truthfully, I went back and forth on my feelings for her. By the end of this book I can say that I did like her. My heart wept for her. She has been dealt a bad hand in life (at the expense of others) and is continuing to be forced to live with the pain of her past mingling with her present... and possibly her future. Sebastian is one of those characters that you can't help but to smile over. Sure, we already knew he was a character to swoon over. He is bark with some bite. Bite where it really matters. This story just adds to this persona. He will do anything for those he loves. Even if it means that he faces his past and puts his own livlihood in jeopardy. How could one not love a character with so much conviction and love for those around him? I loved the development in this book. It picks up from A Ston in the Sea with Shae and Sebastian... so many things in their lives have tied them together without them even knowing it. Things that could both destroy them separatly and together. There is so much possible destruction, they need to make some of the hardest decisions of their lives in order for anyone to come out on top. With both of them struggling to keep their relationship together but facing their demons of the past at the same time can prove to be something that may not be possible. If you have read A Ston in the Sea, then you already know that this book is one you need to read. If you haven't started this series, you are missing out on so much greatness. And yes, you need to read A Stone in the Sea first. This is a series and needs to be read in order. Everyone knows I don't do the mushy or sweet romance, but when it comes to A.L. Such a great story, the conclusion to Baz and Shea. I loved everything about it and can't wait to read about the rest of Sunder. ( )
