To be able to get through this without breaking into a million pieces." This is Willow and Kane's HEA story. It doesn't come without a few bumps and bruises along the way. Although a romance, the main theme is self-love. The type of love that is not unconditional or come from another source. But the love you feel for yourself. I believe that most women and men could relate to Willow. Willow's story was centered around body image. These feelings of self doubt and loathing can come from other conditions: mental capabilities, personality, or status within your group. Kane is the prince charming all of us ugly ducklings hope to find. He loves Willow for Willow. Not the vessel that holds her but the real person. This is my first read of Harper Sloan and I was not disappointed with getting a HEA with lots of steam. The story tended to lag in parts, mostly the characters re-hashing their internal dialogue. This interrupted the reading pace for me, however, it's a personal preference thing. Many may find this engrossing into the mindset of the character. If you are looking for a read that is both hot romance and something that will make you cheer and feel good about the characters, this is a recommended read. "To be a little stronger. Narrator Shirl Rae’s portrayal of the quirky characters amplify the funny dialogues. In the story, the successful, handsome actor Kane is determined to make Willow his. Willow resists Kane’s advances partly due to her negative body image. Narrator Zachary Webber’s soft, low, intimate voice conveys perfectly Kane’s vulnerability. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
Mirror, mirror, who's the fairest of them all? I still cringe when I hear that line. A fairy tale that had girls pretending they were the fairest, the most beautiful, and the most entitled. A fairy tale most couldn't grow out of turned my haunted childhood memories into a living nightmare. Girls who grew up believing that pile of garbage became the meanest of all "mean girls." And those mean girls were right. It was a line meant for all the beautiful people in the world, and I knew the answer would never be me. The answer would always be the women with long legs, flat stomachs, and perfect chests-the type of women Kane Masters gravitated toward. Well, that's definitely not Willow Tate. No. That will never be me, because I'm completely imperfect. I have no idea what Kane could possibly see in someone like me when he could have them. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |

This book had a great message and I really wish it had been better executed. Unfortunately the amateurish writing overshadowed the entire experience for me. I am obviously in the minority, so it must just come down to my own low tolerance for so many grammar missteps. ( )
