When I read this book, I found it both frustrating and fascinating. I couldn't put it down. It's one of Pike's mostly-kinda-sorta-sci-fi novels ("Tachyon Web" being another example). His brand of sci-fi isn't exactly what a reader of mainstream sci-fi might be expecting, but going in with that knowledge, I'm confident that fans of science fiction will enjoy this novel. ( )

This story was both crazy and fascinating. The main character goes back and forth several times- living different lives, creating the alien race that she has to stop from destroying the planet. It was fascinating and one of Pike's better stories. ( )

Even though this is a young adult novel and written as such it is one of my favorite stories of all time. It blends a sci-fi story about a young girl who witnesses the destruction of the human race to then end of time and around with eastern philosophy and love and what love means. ( )
