Undead and Uneasy was fantastic. It was a laugh out loud book that had one or two truly emotional moments. Queen Betsy was on her own for a good half of the book, so you really got to see her grow into her own without the help of the other characters. The mystery as to why she is all alone was perfect. I never saw it coming. I truly loved this book. The best in the series so far. ( )

If you're looking for a fun read to finish before bedtime, UNDEAD AND UNEASY will do the trick. It only takes about two hours to read from first page to last, and you'll get in a few laughs along the way.

Betsy is still preparing for her wedding to Vampire King Eric Sinclair, but this time there are even more complications than usual -- Jessica is still sick with cancer, some people close to her have ended up dead, Tina has been sent to ease ruffled vampire feathers in Europe, and the King himself seems to be hiding away, sulking. Oh, and there's BabyJohn to take care of, and sister Laura to handle, and the Devil to avoid, and even a visit from the Wyndham Werewolf clan.

Overall, this is a fun, easy read in the Queen Betsy series, and readers will be happy to find some answers to a few previously unanswered story lines. ( )

A lot of unexpected events here and true to the author's promise, you'll feel uneasy too but you will enjoy it. I trusted her words and so should you. This is her most serious Undead novel and I have to admit I got anxious but like MJD said, tragedy and conflict are part of living, or in this case, undying. I appreciate what she did in this book, without the serious problems, it wouldn't be a colorful and roller coaster ride. It just developed the characters and their relationship with each other. Enter the Wyndham werewolves. I'm glad I already read Derik's Bane (first MJD book I read) so I was familiar with their pack leader Michael, and the rest of the characters. I have yet to read her anthologies where the werewolves and vampires meet. I loved the story and the wedding, and what goes on behind closed doors between Betsy and Sinclair. In a gist, the story is all about "be careful what you wish for, you might just get it". Gee, I wish for a paperback copy of Undead and Unworthy and I hope I get it soon. ( )

Having been very rude about the last book in this series, I find I'm having to eat my words - if the next book is in the same (slightly) longer format of this one and to the same standard I think I'll enjoy it.

Betsy's wedding day is fast approaching and she's having lots of fights with Sinclair about it. But gradually, quite insidiously in fact, someone strips Betsy's friends and family from around her, by death, sending away, organising partners and more... Tina finally works out what's happening, but is caught in Europe so Betsy, warned that someone is doing this deliberately tries to work out who and stop them.

Betsy is still Betsy... although she's developing a suitably ruthless streak. She's also proving capable of doing things when she must, which is nice to see.

But what is really nice to see is several of the other characters are coming back into being characters rather than extensions of Betsy, or just background noise. Add to that a plot, a really quite reasonable plot and it turned back into the pleasure of reading a book rather than the drudge of watching (I mean reading) soap opera. ( )

Opening Sentence: "...Once, there was a beautiful Queen who was as terrible on the inside as she was glorious on the outside..."

The author is back on track with this book - read this as I flew back home, stifling my giggles as a rather snobbish looking man in the next seat read his financial times.

With only a couple of weeks to go until her wedding, and the Queen of the Vampires, Betsy, still hasn't finalised her wedding plans and tempers are running high. Always concerned about herself it takes Betsy a while to realise everyone has left her alone. In fact she is sitting at her father and step mother's funeral when she realises no-one is holding her hand.

The groom-to-be, Sinclair, has gone off to have a right royal sulk. Jessica is in the hospital having cancer treatment. Tina the vampire PA is in France meeting with the European vamps. Besty's sister, the Spawn of Satan, is being totally selfish, and Antonia the werewolf and her boyfriend, Garrett have disappeared. After the funeral Betsy finds out she has inherited her baby brother.

Looks like Betsy finally has to stop whining, assume her Queenly mantel and actually go and kick some serious ass until she finds out where everyone has gone and get her wedding plans on track. ( )

Weddings are never easy. But when you're Vampire Queen Betsy Taylor, they can become downright deadly... In the days leading up to The Big Day, Vampire Queen Betsy Taylor seems to have a full house and the wedding guests have yet to arrive. Along with her human buddies, there's a ghost, a werewolf, and a Fiend crashing at her place. And though her fiancŽ, Vampire King Eric Sinclair, conveniently disappears when the conversation turns to seating charts and flower arrangements, he does manage to make his oh-so-sexy presence known at other moments. Cold feet are no surprise, especially with an undead groom. But when Sinclair truly goes missing-and not just to avoid wedding preparations-along with most of her friends and loved ones, Betsy is frantic. Alone and afraid for the fate of everyone she loves, Betsy can't trust anyone as she tries to find them and whoever is behind all the disappearances. And what happens next will shake the foundation of the vampire world forever.
