Finally, shifter PNR that didn't feel like published Sterek fanfic with name swaps ( ) This is a weird one for me. First of all, Cooper drove me nuts with the internal monologue. It was circular and negative even when he was thinking his father did the best he could, the tone was that his dad had abused him horribly. I was not even sure he was out because of the internal rambling. Another part was his professional behavior. Petty, insecure - reactionary not proactive. If he was a profiler . . . yeah not researched well. The second part was the mystery was well-built and had elements that I did not see coming and they were not the lame type of "where the heck did that come from?" So on one hand I hated the MC and on the other hand, I enjoyed the mystery. Final result? I deleted the rest of the books in that series from my book as I could not bring myself to read them, maybe another day? But for now - 3/5 for a lousy character. I love this! The mystery was great, Ollie and Cooper are wonderful, the background for each of them is great... It's funny and sweet and heart-wrenching, and touches on problems with the American justice system and police brutality in good ways. Overall, great book. Loving book 2 right now, as well. This was a solid 3 star read and an interesting start to a new series. For the most part this was very enjoyable. The plot twist was fairly obvious but still a good read. The romance between Cooper and Park was adorable. My biggest irritation with this was Cooper himself. He was just so wishywashy. He was majorly prejudiced against werewolves and often cruel in his responses to Park. I think I would've liked him better if he had of been more objective and less biased. I would like to have more background on the characters and the Trust - it seemed like there was a lot missing from the story. But for the most part this was a likable and relaxing read with a sweet romance. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica

A former FBI agent is partnered with the enemy in this suspenseful male/male shifter romance from debut author Charlie Adhara. Hunting for big bad wolves was never part of Agent Cooper Dayton's plan, but a werewolf attack lands him in the carefully guarded Bureau of Special Investigations. A new case comes with a new partner: ruggedly sexy werewolf Oliver Park. Park is an agent of The Trust, a werewolf oversight organization working to ease escalating tensions with the BSI. But as far as Cooper's concerned, it's failing. As they investigate a series of mysterious deaths unlike anything they've seen, every bone in Cooper's body is suspicious of his new partner-even when Park proves himself as competent as he is utterly captivating. When more people vanish, pressure to solve the case skyrockets. And though he'd resolved to keep things professional, Cooper's friction with Park soon erupts . . . into a physical need that can't be contained or controlled. But with a body count that's rising by the day, werewolves and humans are in equal danger. If Cooper and Park don't catch the killer soon, one-or both-of them could be the next to go.
