While I enjoyed with this book I'm not doing a full review of it since I didn't care for some of the content and the book was not my genre like the author's other books . . . so this is not a full review. I do still love Ronie Kendig's books and can not wait for more from her! Her suspense is so awesome and the struggles of her characters is so real and lifelike. ( )

I read it to judge it for the Inspy's hence the lack of star rating.
However, I might post a video talking about my niephlings reaction to the physical copy.

My rating is 4 out of 5 stars.
The Book of the Wars of the Lord allegedly is a real book that exists and has been found by a nefarious organization. The book tells of past wars and their outcomes as well as future wars and their outcomes, so there is more than one organization/person after it. One such group is a special ops team led by Leif Metcalfe, a former Navy SEAL. His team travels the globe in their search for the book. One of their main competitors is a Bulgarian agent, code name Viorica, who has amazing skills and will stop at nothing to complete her mission. While Leif’s interactions with Viorica have him admiring her abilities and have him thinking romantic thoughts about her, he is still struggling with his secret abilities and a six-month gap in his memory.
Viorica or Iskra Todorova steals the book, but only has it for a short while. She will do anything to get it back. She is a woman who can’t fail her mission as it will have dire consequences. She is immediately attracted to Leif, but she can’t afford to let her heart lead her astray. She must stay focused and bring the book to her controller. However, the more meetings she has with Leif the more she wants to trust him. If he discovers her secrets, all will be lost to her way of thinking.
I had a little trouble getting into this book, but a kept reading knowing that Ronie always writes with plenty of action and spine-tingling missions for her military protagonists. The prologue had me glued to my seat, but then the story takes readers back one month to give us background information and slows down. There were a lot of characters to keep track of as well that sometimes had me re-reading pages to make sure I had everyone’s character in the right place. However, the electricity between the two main characters was palpable, and their skill set to get out of dangerous situations was truly awesome! The teasing between the members of the team was also funny and fun to read. I already have book two, King’s Falling, on my watch list to order on its release date of 3/31/20.

This is the first in a new series by Ronie Kendig. The Book of the Wars series is sure to be a great series if Storm Rising is any indication!

This book is thrilling and action packed! We are introduced to former Navy Seal, Leif Metcalfe, a man of mission yet with flaws and regrets. We also meet Iskra "Viorica" Tonorova, an assassin who is known throughout the world. She is the nemesis of Leif and the story line between them is quite intense.

Leif is made the leader of his own team with the task of finding the Book of Wars, a book mentioned in the Septuagint. That Viorica is after the book too, makes this story highly intense and you will find yourself on the edge of your seat while reading!

I really liked this story because it was to action-packed, had flawed yet likable characters, and kept my attention throughout. I highly recommend it and give it 5 stars. ( )

Ronie Kendig is back and better than ever with her first book in her newest series. Storm Rising is amazing. It is, quite literally, a storm rising and the readers need to hang on for the turbulence it’s going to cause.

Blended with the perfect amount of thrilling suspense, Leif Metcalfe gets his story, as he has to lead his team on a wild roller coaster ride of finding a piece of history….all before it falls into the wrong hands for good. Along the way, Leif learns to lean on people and his faith is tested. Add to the story, a touch of romance for Leif and Iskra (let me tell you, she is my favorite character and I absolutely loved her interactions with Leif!).

This book is filled with so much action, so much love, so much hope and intrigue. It is one for my keeper shelf for sure. If you want a wonderfully written novel filled with characters that will make you feel all the emotions you could possibly feel, then grab this perfectly chiseled 4 star worthy novel from the master of Military Romantic Suspense novels.

*I received a complimentary copy of this book from Publisher and was under no obligation to post a review, positive or negative.* ( )
