Ultimately, I didn't care about Brida, so reading this was tiresome. I found the story weak and was disappointed with the sexual aspects and alcohol in relation to a 21 year old girl. Coelho just touches the surface of magic and left me shaking my head. The book is entertaining and I was happy to read it to the end, but I am sorry to say that it just didn't satisfy me like his others books have. Skip this one! Coelho did such an amazing job of weaving philosophy into the first two I mentioned, but 'Brida' seem to rely more on 'magic' (even though he was really trying to sell it as the opposite).
