This is an incredible resource to give to your young investors/bankers/money managers AND to read through yourself. I don't know about you, but I had holes in what financial info I recieved when I was growing up. As in - I was just told to 'save for a rainy day' and then left to figure that out. Unfortunately alot of the adult publications are written based on the idea that you/we have learned the basics of investing & banking, so I was in the dark in a lot of ways. This guide was a great buy for me to learn the basic terms, strategies, etc. to start me off in investing for myself AND to help guide my son until he is old enough and I can turn this, and his trust account, over to him. (Isn't that around 30? Just kidding!) This is a basic guide to fundamental financial terms and concepts. It should be required reading before graduating from high school. If you don’t know what fiat currency is, how a short sale works, or why buying futures benefits speculators and actual commodity consumers, then you need to read this book to fill in the huge gaps in your education.
"The Wall Street Journal Guide to Understanding Money & Investing" initiates you into the mysteries of the financial pages -- buying stocks, bonds, mutual funds, futures and options, spotting trends and evaluating companies. For those who are curious but intimidated by everyday financial jargon, this guide offers a literate, forthright and lively alternative. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
