Elizabeth Ann Michaels adds her own twist to the mental illness theme at the a time when there was little compassion for such a situation. All and all, a tender story between a battle-hardened earl and a young lady who has been cruelly treated. While I was uncertain about the ending, I admit I was not totally shocked. I did read this book in one day - there was enough suspense that kept me turning the page until the very end! ( )
