Very enjoyable - great stories, many or even most of which I hadn't seen or read previously. Terrific stuff for any baseball fan. ( )

I by no means know all, or even most, of the players and games he profiles, but enjoyed reading about them anyway. Short passages make dipping in to read easy to do, no long commitments needed, and every emotion that could possibly be shown was. Pride, humility, perseverance, humor (some were truly laugh out loud), and love of the game and players, fans, managers and commentators. I am now going to be paying much more attention-- love that I finished it at the start of the season. ( )

100 amusing, exciting, interesting stories about the people, the plays, the history, and the game itself. I am not a lifelong baseball fan, so there were a number of terms that were unfamiliar to me, but for the most part, that didn't spoil the pleasure of reading this collection of anecdotes. ( )

Just a delightful romp down memory lane for this baseball fan, with a lot of side trips to games and players I didn't know before. Very readable, very fun. ( )
