I think everyone gets a vote. I haven't finished The Count of Monte Cristo and I voted, so you can too! I'll leave this up for four or five days before I make the poll. The thread was kind of dead for a long time so I want to give people extra time to realize it's up and running again.

Finished Count of Monte Christo which was wonderful. Now just starting The Hours. I'm not sure whether not having read any Virginia Woolfe will spoil this for me. Maybe it will inspire me?

Yay, another potential Count of Monte Cristo participant! I also see you have Dorian Gray on there... It's on my list to finish too, since I found it on my bookshelf a few weeks ago with a bookmark halfway through. o_O

Welcome! Quite a few people in the group are reading The Count of Monte Cristo this year, so we were thinking about starting it as a group read this summer. Please join if you are interested!

Beware: Once you start reading The Count of Monte Cristo you won't want to put it down. Deebee Have you read any other Zola? I am slowly making my way through the entire Rougom Macquart series.

deebee and others The Count of Monte Cristo is a masterpiece! I am sure you all will enjoy reading it. Excellent plot, excellent characters and very well written, despite the length, it is a very pleasurable read. Once you start reading it, I am sure you would need no external motivation :)

I would be in for The Count of Monte Cristo too - man, that book has been sitting on my shelf for years! I like second half of the year too, since I am planning on reading Anna Karenina in the first half.

I see you have The Count of Monte Cristo on your reading list! The unabridged version has been sitting on my shelf for many years now, mocking me... I'd like to say I'll read it this year, but I think I'd need some serious motivation. My kudos to you for such an ambitious reading list!

Hiya ! Maybe reading the abridged version of Count of Monte-cristo would be easier to tackle . Also I have a book list called 1001 Books For Every Mood which has a mixture of fics , classics & contemporary , and nonfics too . I found this booklist to be a more relatable to the average modern ...
