Just as good as the first 2 ( )

The third in the Inda series. Inda is home, but everything is strange. The Venn are invading with an overwhelming force. Can they be beaten back? And at what cost?

A bittersweet ending--if it is indeed the end. ( )

The third Inda novel sees Inda returning home from his long exile. The Venn are poised to attack, and Inda must warn his country. But while he has been away, his friends have grown up and fought their own battles, and his best friend is now king. Evered, who has a growing obsession with Inda, makes him his shield arm, despite the fact that Inda hasn't any experience with land wars. But as the war approaches, everyone will need to fight, no matter their skills.
I really enjoyed this although I intended to reread the first two in the series. Hoping the next one isn't too long away!

The third in the Inda series. Inda has come home, bringing with him Tau and Jeje, as well as his Venn lover. He must warn his boyhood friend, who is now king, that the Venn are planning to invade and that he has a good idea of how they're planning to do it. Evred, overjoyed in more than one way to see Inda again, immediately seeks his counsel and help in figuring out how to defend the Marlovan lands. The characters continue to grow, we learn more of the Venn and their dags (magicians), and there are definitely a few surprises in store. There aren't as many pirates as in The Fox, but then it's really hard to have pirates when the story involves land battles so I forgive the author on this. And I'm definitely looking forward to the next installment. ( )

Descrição do livro

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0756405009, Hardcover)

Sherwood Smith is “a writer who is making her bid to be a major fantasist.”( Orson Scott Card)

Inda, on the verge of adulthood, is at last coming home. At age eleven he’d been exiled from his kingdom, but when he learns that his homeland is about to be invaded, he ends his exile to report the imminent attack. Pressed into service as the king’s “royal shield arm,” Inda must now defend the kingdom—for his reputation as the captain who defeated the most dangerous pirate fleet in history makes him the only man who stands a chance to defeat his country’s ancient enemy.
