Reading this book as a child made me fall in love with reading. ( )

The second book in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles. This one is told from the perspective of Mendenbar, King of the Enchanted Forest. My favorite rebel princess, Cimorene, co-stars as the two of them set off in search of the missing King of the Dragons...

The story is fun and light, but I found Mendenbar a less interesting character than Cimorene.

Maybe I'm being harsh but this was nothing compared to Dealing With Dragons. I still think the series as a whole is fun and I still recommend them all, but the first one is by far the best. Pretty much, if you've read the first one, go ahead and complete the series for the fun of it and to see what happens, the Enchanted Forest is still a fun place to be. ( )

The second book in the series by Patricia C. Wrede. Here we are introduced to Mendanbar, the King of the Enchanted Forest. Mendanbar, who as King is strongly linked to all magic in his kingdom, notices something amiss in his forest. This leads him to meet Cimorene, now searching for a missing Kazul. Soon enough they discovered that the wizards are up to mischief again. This book is definitely aimed at kids, but I still find it enjoyable to re-read to this day. It has humor, adventure, and interesting characters, plus it is quite a quick read. Recommended! ( )
