I loved the illustrations in this story. I thought it was a cute way to teach patience. ( )

This book is about a dog names Katie whose owner, Sarah Ann brings home three baby kittens one day. The dog loves the baby kittens and wants to play with them but the kittens are scared of Katie. Katie feels sad that the kittens don't want to play with her and feels like the cats don't like her. She later falls asleep and wakes up to find the kittens cuddling with her. The story is a great one about not giving up hope when it comes to making friends. The structure of the book is simple and there are only a couple of lines on each page and the focus is on the pictures. For that reason, I would recommend the book for early elementary K-3rd. The book is a good one to read along with young emergent readers and have them practice their reading for a line or two. ( )

i asked throughout the book "do the kittens like katie?" the answer was usually no, until the very end. made the story more interactive and fun for storytime ( )
