The title pretty much says it all....: There is a reason that many workplaces ban Dilbert cartoons- they are just too darn close to the truth. I've lost track of the number of times that I've laughed myself silly after finding one of his cartoon arcs describing some experience in my own working career.

In his biography, Scott Adams is described as both an engineer and as a member of Mensa. Inspite of this, however, he has a sense of humor....

I'm sure that this confirmation of the absurdity of corporate "culture" has helped more than a few intelligent wage-slaves maintain their sanity over the years. It almost maintained mine.

Scott Adams clearly has been spying on all of us who work in the technical field. Too many of these ring just a little too true to be pure coincidence. A hilarious read that the PHBs may never really appreciate. ( )

Dilbert, one of the funniest (because it's true) comics of all time. I would like to have the full collection of the comics. Maybe he could start by making a book of the first 5-6 years of Dilbert like the Farside or Calvin & Hobbs. ( )

Two of my favorite "Dilbert" cartoons are the one where the boss tells Dilbert he has to learn to be a eunuch, Dilbert replies that the boss must mean Unix, which he already knows, and the boss replies that if the company nurse comes by, he said to never mind, and the one where Dilbert and Wally have conned their boss into thinking that the "Etch-A-Sketch" they gave him is a laptop computer that he has to reboot by holding over his head and shaking vigorously. They're not in this book, though. ( )
