Cherry Wilkinson was born on 30 March 1951 in Cape Town, South Africa. In her early 20's, she moved halfway across the globe from South Africa to the United States. She settled in beautiful San Francisco, where she started what eventually became a thriving interior design business, before deciding to channel her creativity into writing full time. When asked why she chose to write romance, she says, "There simply aren't enough happy endings in the world and I wanted to create a few more for people to enjoy." When not glued to her computer or reading, the former RITA finalist can be found puttering around her flower garden performing snailacide. Popular on the workshop circuit, she gives lively classes on writing and the writing life. Pulling no punches when asked how to become a published writer.

Cherry currently lives in western Washington and collects teapots and books. Lots of books. With their two grown daughters out of the nest, she and husband David have lived under the dominance of their feline T.C. (Temporary Cat), for 10 years, and have recently acquired a perfect black schnauzer puppy, Max. Their dream house finally complete, she loves to spend time at home. A corner desk keeps her focused on writing, but the windows behind her, with a panoramic view of the front gardens, are always calling her to come outside and play.

I won this book in a GR First-reads giveaway, and now I'm wishing I hadn't, because now I have to wait for the next book to come out. I like it much better when I discover a series after it's finished or at least after several books have been published. *sigh*

But aside from my personal impatience, I loved this book. I'm not sure if I've read anything else by Adair, but I'll be checking out her other books. I read a lot and the majority of that is romance, so it's refreshing to see someone put a different spin on things. A one-night stand turns into a fight for life when Zak and Acadia are kidnapped along with Zak's brother. I love that the twists and turns were unpredictable, and I certainly don't want to give anything away.

I have one issue with the ending, but I'm really hoping that will somehow be resolved later in the series. (I'm not giving away any secrets. You'll know when you read it.)

I borrowed this book from my local library and my review is not paid for or compensated for in any way.
Overall rating: 4 Stars

Temptation on Ice Cherry Adair

Ive heard of Cherry before but this story is the first Ive read by her. While a good story, I feel that the history/purpose of the T-FLAC team wasnt as detailed as it shouldve been for a newbie reader to pick up the book. Its evidently in the middle of a series and the books before it should be read for a better understanding.
Sebastian was a great, sexy character and I respected Micheala so much but the torture she suffered was hard to handle at times (I normally dont mind reading about a main character who was abused but I think I just wasnt in the mood for something depressing). I loved that wizards, magic and psychic abilities played a big part in the book.
I feel that the characters jumped in bed together too quickly but I understand their urgency so Im able to overlook it. What I didnt like was the second time they slept together. Being stuck inside a tiny sub tank, hidden in an ice cave with Russian and Chinese terrorists searching for the sub, along with a nuclear bomb ready to denote in a few minutes a few miles away is not a proper situation to get busy.
Overall, I enjoyed the story. I didnt find any typos and the writing flowed beautifully. I hope to read more books in the T-FLAC series in the future.

Temptation in Shadows Gena Showalter

Gena is one of my favorite authors and shes the reason why I picked up this anthology.
The first chapter really grabbed me as we watch Sean and Gabrielle escape their kidnappers, then learn that Sean orchestrated the whole thing. I didnt like that chapters two, three and four were flashbacks to weeks before to explain why Sean kidnapped Gabby. Luckily, chapter five picked up where the first chapter left off.
Abused and experimented on as a child, Gabbys psychic gift is amazing but its horrible that she has it. Sean was abused, too, but the non-government agency he works for has helped him overcome his pain and trauma, which is what he wants to do for Gabby.
I dont think this novella is part of a series but I hope Gena starts one. Id love to read more about the side characters, like Rowan and Bentley, and Rose Briar sounds like a kick-ass paranormal agency.
I found a few typos which we annoying but not enough to for me to put down the book. Gena often writes in fragment sentences to better show the emotion of a character and, while that used to really bother me, Ive gotten used to it because the plots of her stories are just so good.
4 Stars

Hunting Temptation Lorie OClare

Lorie is another new author for me and I really liked her werewolf story. Im more a vampire type of gal, so I dont read wolf stories often, but Im glad I picked this one up.
An evil rogue werewolf is released from prison and killing people. Seth is a bounty hunter and relies on Jeremy, a mysterious man who baffles him, for help in some of his tougher cases. Sparks fly when Seth meets Jeremys younger sister, Jenna, and then hes drawn into the dangerous world of the werewolves.
An interesting twist of wolf lure, I really liked how the werewolves eyes turned silver instead of the normal gold as Ive read about before and seen in movies.
There were more typos in this story than I usually find acceptable. I dont know why the author or editor didnt catch words like gave when it should be give or a few words missing altogether in the sentence. I continued to read it because I was totally engrossed in the characters and I want to read more in Lories werewolf series in the future.

I was expecting pure romantic suspense when I picked up this book, so I was pleasantly surprised to learn it had a heavy paranormal slant. It took me about a chapter to really get into the story, but once Kess's POV came across, I was hooked. I adored Kess. She's got tons of attitude, and she's not afraid to go after what she wants. She perplexes the heck out of poor Simon, who has no idea how to handle a woman like her but sure wants to learn. This was a quick read, and kept me entertained throughout. I'm really looking forward to reading more books in this series, and more work by Cherry Adair.… (mais)

Hot Ice
4 Stars

Taylor Kincaid specializes in stealing priceless gems and artwork from wealthy international criminals. Unfortunately, her latest heist has netted her the security codes to a secret underground bunker belonging to one of the world's most dangerous terrorists. Now Taylor is the target of rival terror organizations as well as T-FLAC operative Huntington St. John, who soon comes to realize there is more to Taylor than her breaking and entering skills.

Taylor is an intriguing heroine. Her choice of occupation initially presents her character as devious, manipulative and immoral; however, there are numerous hints to the fact that there is more to this than meets the eye.

Hunt is a typical Cherry Adair T-FLAC alpha male. He is brusque and overbearing, but Taylor meets him head-on, and their interactions are witty and exude sexual tension and chemistry.

The suspense plot is action-packed, and the Indiana-Jones like quest in the final chapters is very entertaining. That said, the villain is clichéd and there are several implausible moments.

Overall, this is one of the best installments in the series and I look forward to reading more of the Black Rose trilogy.
