Course Technology has done a number of these "New Perspectives" textbook/workbooks for learning various Microsoft Office applications. These books are the absolute best on the market. If you need to learn Microsoft Access in a hurry, you can work through this book's exercises and have a solid understanding of the concepts in about 40 hours. Our local community college uses these as the textbooks for their non-credit Access class, which meets for about 36 hours over the course of a semester. My husband and I took the course together. Working separately on the exercises, we each managed to finish the book in less than 30 hours.
