Sue Ann Alderson

"Pond Seasons" by Sue Alderson included several short poems about different animals that live or migrate to ponds during different seasons. Each poem was written in the same form and style, but were different types of poems and talked about different animals. These poems were also educational toward the reader teaching about the different animals and different times of migration.

Another poetry book about animals who inhibit a pond and how their habitat change during seasons affect their life. The ducks, fish, frogs, snakes, dragon lies, and butterflies make up the community of the pond. The book goes through the life cycle off these animals through the four seasons.

Z picked this off the shelves at the library today. We skipped the intro narrative and dove into the poems. Most of the poems were non-rhyming but rhythmical and he liked that they dealt with animals/plants that he cares about.

As a poetry book this was a very rough read for me. I didn't find that it flowed very well and it was a little hard to follow.
