This is book 3 in 'The Outlaw Preacher' series. It deals with how the enemy will steal your joy when you get down, but God is faithful; the question is, do we trust and believe Him and his promises enough to win out over the pain and hopelessness we all experience sometime in our life?

The 'preacher' has tragedy strike his life at the very beginning of this story and with it his rage against God begins. The question is, can a former outlaw biker who has turned preacher be able to get his act together once again. And will his MC friends be able to help their wandering brother in time before he does something really stupid. You will keep turning the pages to see how this will all work out.

Two things: 1)Read these books in the order they were written. They are all worth reading and if you pick up this story without the other two, you won't appreciate it nearly as much as if you started from the beginning. 2)This is a story that sticks with you long after you close the book. It is like reading a real story of a real person and the author did a really good job of presenting the gospel message in a way that fit in with the story really well. I highly recommend this series, even though it is not the type of story line I would normally read. This series is a keeper.

One quote from the book which I thinks sums up what the story was all about:

"Our belief must incorporate trust, total abandon to the God of the universe and His plan for our lives. We have to believe that His plan is much better than our plan could ever be."

Another really good story in the "Outlaw Preacher" series. I strongly recommend you read these in order because you will lose out on so much background and understanding of what is going on by skipping a book (and so far the 1st two have been great). These stories are full of action, adventure, drama and a tiny slice of romance, but what I appreciate most is how the author makes it seem real to life and how he intertwines a real gospel message throughout his stories that just flow with the story.

James is a former member of the Doomsayers Motorcycle Club (DMC), before he went to prison and came out a changed man, a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. Now he is trying to make a difference by sharing of his faith, and has started up a "church" for any who want to hear what he has to say. His former 'bro' in the biker world, Snake, has been in a bad motorcycle accident and is not expected to live. This will bring James back into the lives of several DMC members and he is not exactly welcomed by all. And then he finds out Snake's accident wasn't really an accident. The mystery and suspense and action begin and don't end until the very end.

This genre of story is outside my normal reading style, but I have to stay, it was a story I had a hard time putting down, and look forward to picking up the next book in this series "Redemption".
Some os my favorite quotes from the book:
James is praying, "In all things we see your will, accept your will, we trust your will, and we rest in your response."
James witnessing, "He (Jesus) paid a debt that was not His to pay; that is grace. He gave His life for us that He could give His to us and live His life through us!"
A couple of good questions: "Do we want our prayers answered or do we want God's will for our lives."
"why don't we trust Him? We think we have a better plan, that's why. It's that simple; we dumb humans are convinced that we have a better plan."
I have lots more marked, but let me just share one more: "Beware those who keep emphasizing their great faith and what great faith does. It's the object of our faith that has the power, not faith itself. It's a slippery slope, bro, when we start thinking we can make God do whatever we want if our faith is big enough. That's not biblical faith, that's sorcery."

I highly recommend this series of books; and can say that I think guys and gals would enjoy this author.

I must admit, I wasn't planning on getting into this story that much, as the title and story line really wasn't my type of book, but I owned it, so thought I should read it. I am SO GLAD I did. From the very first pages I was hooked and stayed hooked all the way through!

The title of the book pretty much speaks for itself when it comes to what this story is about. James has just been released from prison, for a crime he didn't do, and now has to deal with life now that he is out. He was well known in his motorcycle "club"/"gang" and now that he has found Jesus in prison he will do his best to 'live in God's word and share it with others'. I don't often quote other reviewers, but David Bergsland said it so well in his review, "An outlaw biker meets the Lord in prison for real.. . . This outlaw becomes the real deal, putting his flesh down, and allowing the Lord to amaze him with His solutions. It is an exciting, thrilling book. The reality of it is inescapable."

I felt like I was reading a true story about a man's life; a man who had such good insights into the world in which he was living. He had real struggles, real victories, tears of sadness and moments of real and lasting joy. It was truly a great read and I am now going to continue my journey with this man by reading the next story in this series, "The Miracle". It was outside of my reading genre, but I am glad I found this author and his stories.
