I really enjoyed this book. I checked it out from the library, not expecting a whole lot, and instead, I find a really good book, with interesting stories.
The author, Trond Anfinnsen, had a simple plan. He would make individualized hats for all his friends and family. He put a lot of thought into each of the hats he would make for these people. This book covers 50 hats although he made many more hats than 50.
What is so good about this book are the bios of the hat recipients. Trond has a very deep respect for these people. And since Trond is a simple guy, his reasoning for the hat design was simple (I choose yellow to match her bright personality, I choose Basses because he was a bass player). This is a person I really want to know, and his description of his town, Stavanger Kommune, Norway seems like a very wonderful place to visit.
The are a few patterns that are quite nice, a number of them was a bit outlandish (but considering they are each tailored to one individual...) and there is a hat recipe at the end of the book on how to design your own hat. I didn't make any of the patterns.… (mais)
