A quick and often amusing read about what to expect if you are questioned by police, and how to avoid making it easier for them to put you in jail.

I have no idea how accurate it is, but the lessons make sense. In brief, the rules are: don't talk to police in an interrogation situation beyond providing your name, address, and other basic ID info; ask for your lawyer; remember that the police are allowed to lie; don't trust anyone at the police station, since even people not connected to your case might be talked into identifying you as "the one who did it" just for the sake of putting you off balance in the interrogation.

The author also has some advice about how to avoid being arrested if a police officer stops you.

All this being said, I would want to see if this matches up to advice from other sources before I relied too heavily on it. (Or used it as the basis for a scene in my writing.)

The sentences are coherent, mostly. The editing is awful. The content is very American specific - to be as belligerent as the author recommends would be suspicious in other countries. Mostly it says to keep your mouth shut... until later it acknowledges you're probably not going to do that. It was interesting to read how Americans think and there was the odd bit of transferable trivia, but not much of an action plan for anyone but Americans.
