I've enjoyed exploring this book. There is a lot of data on the Christian presence in Middle Eastern countries. It is written somewhat from the perspective of the Middle East Council of Churches, which has done noteworthy work in bringing together a very diverse group of Christians. Many of these churches are very ancient and have been separated fro other Christians for over 1,500 years. The four basic groups are Eastern Orthodox (Chalcedonic), Oriental Orthod0x (non-Chalcedonic, such as Coptic, Ethiopian, Syrian, and Aremenian), Catholic (Eastern Rite branches), and Evangelic/Protestant.
