I fell hard for Zach his accent, his loyalty, and everything about him. He was protective and lovable when with Ava then when it came to Lily he doubted himself some but he realized he wants her. Lily was tenacious, wanted to do things on her own but would accept help when she knew she needed it most. They both could be so stubborn but the slow burn for their attraction to slam into them was magical. They both had things to deal with and overcome but will they do it together or let fear of losing scare them apart? This book had amazing characters, an adorable baby, and just enough tension to keep you hooked.… (mais)

I won a KINDLE copy of this book in a giveaway from the author who had been a participant in the SASS Anniversary Hop on FaceBook author and the following is my honest opinion.

Life for Anna White lfe hasn’t always been a happy one especially as she was growing up and it came to having a relationship with the opposite sex. For doing this time she considered herself to be very ordinary young girl; or in other terms, an ugly duckling. However, now she’s blossomed into a beautiful swan, a stunning beauty of a woman; but she’s unwilling to realize it.

For James Thompson transforming himself from an ordinary swimmer, like you or me, into an Olympic swimmer with gold medals, world records, and million-dollar sponsorship deals, hasn’t come easy with the hard work and training he had to endure to reach the level of perfection he has achieved.

Their relationship had to be developing into something significant, otherwise why would James accompanied Anna back on a trip to her hometown, the reason for which is not clearly given.

Her arrival back home is met with a lot of backstabbing by her old friends, who are now jealous of the way she looks, and envious of the kind of guy she’s caught the attention of. If you’ve ever been jealous of an old girlfriend with how things have shaped up in their lives as compared to your own, then you’ll understand what’s happening here with Anna. While this is happening with Anna, James has to deal with her sordid and envious ex-boyfriend, Grant. It is here that James begins to realize that their relationship is not as close as he had believed, but are actually farther apart.

If the intrusion of Anna’s so-called friends hasn’t been enough to add turmoil in her relationship with James, the ever watchful eye and scrutiny on their relationship by the media due to his participation in the upcoming London World Championships definitely will. And will a dark intimate discovered secret by the media threaten to destroy what these two cherish.

These two lovers had represented perfection which each desired in each other’s lives, but with all this going on, the question that rears its head is whether their relationship will be able to survive and endure. Or is what they had in reality had been a dream or an illusion.

For having given her readers a story which is fraught with a roller coaster of different emotions, I’m giving Ms. Barber 5 STARS.

NOTE: The author has used British phrases and spelling of words in the writing of this book.

Romantic and traumatic!

It's true, that perfection is just an illusion, but Anna and James' story is a loving, intimate romance, that shows that love can be perfect, even if life isn't. Anna is comforted by James' love for her, especially since she looks down on herself. The story is romantic, and traumatic, but it brings the pieces of how and why Anna feels the way she does, and how James truly sees her. The chemistry between Anna and James, at first felt a little forced, but it develops throughout the story. I thought at first Anna wanted James because he loved her so much. Some of the dialogue seemed a little immature, but then i realized that sometimes the "high school" years never leave some people, as with most of the characters from Anna's past. Interestingly developed story.… (mais)
