Through her Nana's eyes a little girl realizes her true beauty. She doesn't need a mirror to show her what her Nana already knows. That she is beautiful! Such a wonderful story. It reminds me of the quote,"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." The illustrations are bright and have rounded shapes.

I loved this book!!!!!! I will certaintly remember this book. There were no mirrors in her nana's house. The reason for this was to see the beauty in everything. She never knew anything was ever wrong with her because there were no mirrors to judge herself. Everything in the house was beauty to her. She only knew love she never knew hate. It is based off of a song. It is a great book and song. Her nana taught her to love everything and have no hate. Everything was beautiful. Her nana would say "the only beauty in everything is in her eyes" meaning everything you see is beautiful.… (mais)

This children's book while short and simple had a very deep meaning. No mirrors symbolized no stereotyping, no judging, and no inequality. I noticed while reading that within the illustrations, the characters in the book did not have any facial features. I believe this form of art brings a deeper meaning to the book and portrays the theme even more. I liked that the book was based off of a song and as a teacher would, more than likely, play the song for my students as well as reading the book.
