This book is more of a personal account of author’s own experiences in Darjeeling. Starting with his days of stay as a young academician, the author tracks the history of Darjeeling across the tumultuous days of political strife and the fight of Gorkhas for recognition of their existence as a separate identity than the majority Bengalis of West Bengal. The author demonstrates his love for Darjeeling using poetic description of its beauty amid the storytelling tracing his life in the hills.
