the book is slow starting but I quite enjoyed it as the story picked up.

While Bob housesits for a friends, he also looks after their cat; the cat’s behaviors are paralled by natural explanations for them, how they evolved. Interesting treatment of a cat’s everyday behaviors.

girl writes letters to improve her town; mistaken identity element in the story

A cute middle-grade novel about a girl who speaks up when she sees something that needs fixing. The dedication in the front of the book is great: "To everyone who ever said, 'Somebody ought to write a letter'--and then wrote it."
