About the Author

Sir Tony Brenton was a British diplomat from 1975 to 2009, completing his career as Charg d'Affaires in Washington, and then Ambassador in Moscow. He is now a Fellow of Wolfson College, Cambridge, and a regular commentator on contemporary Russian issues.
