Burt Britton (1933–2018)

Burt Britton was born Burton Saperstein in Brooklyn, New York on November 27, 1933. He served in the Marines in the 1950s and rose to the rank of sergeant. He tried acting with little success. After discovering his love of reading, he drove a cab and bartended nights so that he could spend the day mostrar mais in bookstores. He worked at the Strand Bookstore in Manhattan for 10 years. He was a collector of celebrity self-portraits and wrote a book entitled Self-Portrait: Book People Picture Themselves, which was published in 1976.
