This book does an impressive job of explaining how big government is inevitable give our value system, and how we frame the moral debate. Defense of capitalism and self-interest has been weak because the moral standards result in only a half hearted position. Thus, government grows as we slide toward a socialist society.

Some points that it makes:
- Selfishness is the foundation of progress
- Profit is noble
- Corrupt business will be rejected by consumers in a free society
- Even America has not been a totally free society
- America prospered because it was more free than other societies
- Division of labor increase productivity
- Monopoly is by government fiat
- Regulation punishes consumers
- Government made health care inefficient and expensive

There is also a chapter on the entitlement mentality

24 pages of "Notes" and an index.

As a Christian, I have some concerns about the views expressed in this book.

1 Corinthians 10:24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s wealth. (New Testament)

Mosiah 27: 4 That they should let no pride nor haughtiness disturb their peace; that every man should esteem his neighbor as himself, laboring with their own hands for their support. (Book of Mormon)
