I tried with this series. It's just a "no". The 1st book had Donna spending 12 weeks being trained as an assassin to take out her husband Carl. Suddenly it's as if she's had years to become super assassin. She's still with Jack, her fake undercover husband. Carl has been gone for five years and it's kind of weird that the kids would just automatically forget their real father and believe Jack is him. Carl resurfaces as Donna is trying to divorce him for abandonment and he's still trying to kill her. A mishmash of too many characters involving WMD's, sex trafficking, catty neighbors, and murder. I actually upped it 1 star due to the funny tips at the beginning of each chapter. It ends with a secret of Jacks so you will have to continue the series. I won't be.… (mais)

This was a combo book melding "The Housewife Assassin" (Donna) & "Lucky O'Toole" (Lucky) in alternating chapters. I adore the Lucky books and have read the entire series. They are all 4 stars. I read the first housewife assassin book & really didn't care for it. I just can't seem to connect or care with the assassin characters. Donna is not likeable & her team is too convoluted. In this book, one of the team members (Dom) falls in love with Lucky after one initial encounter & chases her the entire book. Lucky usually has her staff & friends with her in books and this one she's on her own & has to help the assassin team. Not my cup of tea! I'll just stick with Lucky… (mais)

1st book in the series. It was an OK book. A little disjointed that an ordinary housewife becomes a CIA assassin with only 12 weeks of training. Donna's husband (who was secretly CIA) is presumably killed in a car crash and details of his secret life are revealed to her & CIA job offered. Killing people and shuffling her 3 kids around Donna gets a sweet gig to take down the organization that killed her husband. Throw is a hunky operative that she has to play house with and you have some romance & danger. The housewife tips at the start of each chapter were pretty funny and made the book more interesting. I don't think I will continue with this series… (mais)
