This was such a good read but so emotional - prepare yourself for tears! One of the main characters is Deaf and the other is a social worker for the Deaf grandmother of the Hero. The author is Hard of Hearing and I felt she did a great job developing characters that are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. I'm not a fan of work/power imbalance scenarios in romance, however I think the way that conflict of interest was handled in this story made it less problematic. This is a shorter book, but it deals with really heavy topics so take care of yourself first before delving in!

The book was an amazing read! I love Shaina and Mark's compatibility and how they find competition in love. Sure, everyone has their opinions of them but I think the competition would be one of the reasons they're forever, because the competition ignites passion, which ignites love. The way that Shaina and Mark's relationship was portrayed is impeccable! Without giving the plot away, I just believe that all the confrontations in the book were incredible! The book should definitely be on your enemies to lovers favorites list! Recommend it to everyone… (mais)

I try not to have expectations going into a story, but I had a few with this one.

Bad: One combination of stupid bugs me. I think I have good reason given the elements, so this and the personal note next are why its 4 stars, not 5.

Personal: You don't read this one for the hot sex scenes, they aren't the point.

Good: The author met all but two of my expectations -- a major accomplishment. I was instantly invested in the characters, and nearly everything they did or didn't do fed directly from their pasts. Well done! The writing is very good, and the ebook is well combed for typos, too. :) Bonus, that.

READ this if you want a good story with Hard of Hearing and Deaf characters! Read if you want a gripping story! Read to learn and love the process. It is really good.… (mais)
