What I like most about this often depressing, hard-pill-to-swallow book is that it gets right down to the reality of what's needed to succeed in the modern working world. You'll hear constant reminders about how your 'safe' industry might not be so safe, or that you could be downsized or fired more frequently than you might think, or even if none of the above happens you still could be in a dead-end job and need to find, or create, another job anyway. It's all bitterly true and depressing in that I-wish-it-weren't-so kind of way.
The quote I posted at the top is the best reminder from the book that if you do the hard work and stay aware of the ever-changing economic landscape, you'll be fine. It's just a matter of smartly putting in the work.… (mais)
