Another excellent reference book by DTV (Deutscher Taschenbuch Verlag), DTV-Atlas zur Philosophie includes not only texts and analyses of world philosophy from ancient India to the late 20th century, for those visually inclined, there are also a plethora of full colour illustrations and diagrams presented. Personally, I find many of the graphs, diagrams and flow charts rather confusing (I just don't think in pictures, I think in letters and words), but they are a wonderful additional learning tool for those individuals who think concretely and require formulae and graphs to learn.

Dense, academic and informative (and all in a handy, lightweight paperback), the only drawback is that, much like most DTV atlases, the font size of the text is again rather miniscule (I actually read parts of the book with a magnifying glass). However, I do realise that if the font size were much bigger, this book would likely not have been able to be published in such a handy, lightweight format, thus the tiny font is but a minor inconvenience. Recommended for students and anyone interested in philosophy (but with the caveat that fluency in the German language is assumed and necessary).… (mais)
