This book is about 380 pages long, but it reads more like 3800. If something is worth saying once, for David Byers it is worth saying a half dozen times. The book takes forever to actually get to the meat the reader is looking for: specific high school curricula and other advice for college-bound homeschoolers. It isn't that Byers' advice isn't generally quite good. There is a pretty good dose of common sense here and a few things you will want to write down. It just isn't a fun book to read due to the author's constant braindumps, or to adapt a phrase from Winston Churchill, the author seems to have no unexpressed thoughts. The brief sections written by Chandra Byers are only vaguely helpful. It's pretty clear who is driving things in the Byers family. To its credit, the book tries to walk an unbiased line and doesn't tilt toward religious-based homeschooling, although that is obviously the author's preference.… (mais)

Was not as helpful as I thought it would be. I really didn't learn anything new or useful from it. Very disappointed.
