In book one in the Hawaiian Heroes series, chef Melia Carson is vacationing in Hawaii after breaking up with her boyfriend. While attending a snorkeling trip with a group of fellow tourists, she’s immediately smitten with the huge, handsome Hawaiian hunk on the boat. The trouble is, she’s not the only woman there who’s interested in him and she’s not willing to compete for his attention.
David “Malu” Ho’omalu is used to women flinging themselves at him, and he would take advantage of that if not for two things: he’s on the trip to watch a suspected drug runner, and he’s found the wahine—the woman—of his dreams. Unfortunately, Melia doesn’t seem all that interested in him. After one of the partying tourists goes missing, Malu and Melia are thrust together in a bid for survival.
Malu and Melia are wonderful, strong, stubborn characters.
He comes from a long line of paranormally enhanced warriors, and his powers/abilities were awesome. This paranormal aspect didn’t overpower the plot, though. “Malu” is his nickname and what he normally went by, but sometimes the name David was thrown in, which was distracting.
The description of the Hawaiian scenery, people, food, and culture was very detailed.
I’m definitely interested in learning more about the secondary characters, especially Malu’s brother Daniel and their friends Keone and Leilani.
I didn’t find any typos, which was great. Even though I enjoyed this story a lot, I was a little confused with timeline. I thought the prologue had taken place about a year before the beginning of the story, but actually it took place in the middle of the opening chapters. The rest of the story flowed well, but the ending chapters dragged a little after the big showdown.
This is the first book I’ve read from Ms. Cade, and I would love to read more.

[b:Show Me the Honey: Sweet & Dirty BBW Romance|25524531|Show Me the Honey Sweet & Dirty BBW Romance|Cathryn Cade|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1431403698s/25524531.jpg|45310966] by [a:Cathryn Cade|2796058|Cathryn Cade|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/authors/1352820325p2/2796058.jpg] is a Contemporary Adult Romance.
There are editing errors, but essentially it is well written. It started out with a bang, then lost its momentum for the suspense. The synopsis made it sound like there was an ongoing threat throughout the book. There wasn't. After the initial suspense action in the first 10 chapters or so, it became strictly a romance. Not what I would call erotic, but definitely an adult romance.
Lindi and Jack are great characters and it was a fun read. The intimate scenes are written very differently and I think more realistic than a lot of romances I have read. The interaction between Lindi and Jack runs hot & cold. They have issues they have to work on. That bit of realism really added a special note to the whole story. There is one particular scene in the book that didn't make sense to me at all. I don't want to give any of the story line away, so I will just say it was the 'Big' argument and make up scene that had me rolling my eyes.
My true rating is 3.5 stars. I enjoyed it and appreciated the writing enough that I was curious about book 2 in the series. I looked it up on Amazon. Its title is 'Honey for Nothin'. It says it's 3.99 and 304 pages. It is about Lindi's friend Kit and Jacks biker buddy Keys. It looks like it will be a real scorcher.
Bottom line is give this one a try. I think it is worth it and I have a feeling the other books in this series will just get better and better.

This is a new to me author. I'm surprised that I hadn't heard of her before since she is from Idaho too. Great to read about parts of my state that I'm familiar with.

Not a typical MC romance and was more a sweet romance between a woman (size 10-12 is not BBW) and a man. It happens fast but it still worked.

Jack wanted the million in stolen cash that he's sure Lindi had so he kidnapped her to get it. By the time she convinces him she's not who he thought she was and didn't have the cash, they had fallen for each other. I had a hard time getting my head around her falling in lust then love with her kidnapper.

After reading the blurb, I was expecting more mystery/suspense than the story delivered. The plot was good but so much of the book was made up of sex scenes that I just didn't find it as interesting as I thought I would.

This is a really hot, sexy romance of if you are an erotic romance reader, try Show Me The Honey.
