I read How Low Can you Go? earlier this summer, which was a fascinating read and I still have Ryanland and Michael O'Leary:A Life in Full Flight. I appear to be on somewhat of a low-cost airlines kick...ETA: and I've just mooched Nuts!

I didn't know a ton about "Go" before reading this book but I did fly them shortly before the takeover by easyJet from Prague to Madrid via London. It was a nice experience, although I found the transfer from Stansted to Luton for the different flights to be a bit annoying. Oh well, it's the price you pay for cheap travel. Anyway, enough about my travels...

Since I'm currently writing a business plan for one of my classes, I found reading through the start-up stuff to be fascinating. I can't e ven imagine some of what they had to do. I find the author's bio and career path interesting as well, never knew GO was headed by a woman, nevermind an American.

Life at Go wasn't all roses, and it was interesting to see how they perservered. Some moments struck a chord with me -- 9/11 of course but also the train crash in Oct 2000 -- I was in the UK shortly after and experienced some of the "rail chaos in the UK [that] went on for many months as almost every piece of railway line in the country was checked and most of it was replaced".
