Frankly, while reading a Christmas story, I like to be a little more uplifted. It's a hard enough season without submitting myself to an entirely depressing story. I do get the idea that through all the grief and tragedy this father feels he finds the goodness in his heart to bestow kindness on others. It is just too bad that it takes our own grief to make us realize there are so many others out there in need of a bit of happiness in their lives too. Maybe this book should be used as a good social commentary on just how we live our lives with blinders on until life rips them off.… (mais)
