Harlan goes to his sister's bar for dinner and exchanges deep stares with Ben who is there to entertain the customers. Harlan goes back to Ben's room for two nights. When Ben leaves both assume it will b forever but Ben has an accident on the way out of town and needs a place to stay until his truck is repaired. Will Harlan offer it? Will Harlan let Ben into his life?

I enjoyed this short story. It was hot. I could understand Harlan's feelings about his son Tanner getting attached to Ben based on Harlan's history. I liked that Ben knew there was something more. I liked his solution for coming back. I was happy with the whole story but especially the ending. I'm sorry this series has ended. I liked it.… (mais)

After 2 years of being away from rodeo and working with a counselor, Scott makes apologies to Tripp for his behavior in the past. Tripp asks him to help with teaching bull riding at some upcoming clinics for the gay rodeo. Scott agrees and has to deal with his reputation on the rodeo circuit. He meets Cory, a pickup man at the gay rodeo. Both are attracted to the other. Cory does not know Scott's past, only the rumors. Scott is deeply in the closet. They have their starts and stops as their relationship develops. When Scott realizes he may lose Cory, can he come out of the closet and openly admit his love for Cory? Can he admit he is gay?

This is probably the best book of this series so far. I loved Cory. He is a little over the top but his heart is in the right place. This is Scott's redemption story. He has to live with his actions and words from the past and, at times, the present. He has to find the courage to change his thoughts and behaviors. He also tracks down his past to make peace with it. I was so glad he was able to do it. I would have hated him losing out with Cory. Cory just smooths out his rough edges and brings joy to him as well as shows him a future.

I need to read the last book of this series. I love that the characters from the previous books play roles in each successive book.… (mais)

Bridge has been thinking about and dreaming about Eric since the rodeo season ended. With the next season about to begin, when Bridge sees Eric again, he knows he wants to explore what might be between them. Eric is afraid to believe Bridge is interested in him in any permanent way. He thinks Bridge might only be curious. But the two begin to explore what is the heat between them. Will it work out? Is Bridge only interested in exploring? Can Eric let go of his past?

I enjoyed this story. I liked Bridge and Eric. I wish Eric were not so stuck in his past as it will mess up his future. I liked the acceptance Eric found with the friends and can appreciate him not wanting to lose it if things don't work out with Bridge. I was not happy with the pain Eric inflicted on Bridge. I was glad I got my HEA, it was fraught for a while there.

Marty is a pickup man on the rodeo circuit. When he sees the bull going after Tripp when Tripp has finished his ride and the clowns are on the other side of the arena, he spurs his horse to get between Tripp and the bull getting injured in the process. When Tripp does not come to see how Marty is, Marty knows their relationship is over. Marty is out, Tripp is deeply closeted. Tripp goes to see Marty but it does not work out. After their talk, Tripp leaves. He decides to become what Marty needs, but can he? Does he come out of the closet? Can Marty and Tripp become a couple in public as well as private?

I liked this story. I liked Marty. He is a good guy. He supports people in their decisions. He has their backs. But Tripp cannot let go of his past and Marty cannot handle one thing in public while in private they are together. I liked that Tripp did some soul searching. I also appreciated that he finally let Marty know about his past and that he went to make amends. Tripp also finds a lot of haters. I loved when Marty learns what happens to Tripp, he goes to help although Tripp does not appreciate it. Marty does have Tripp's back, though. He goes to the person responsible but is more compassionate than I would ever be. Hopefully, it will work out for that person.
