The book has a slightly retro, 50's diner feel, but the recipes are thoroughly modern. Flavour is the basis of the dishes, rather than featuring crazy ingredients just to be unusual. The recipes look like showpieces, and might challenge some home cooks.

Introduction: This entire cookbook is an ode to comfort food and the writing feels as comforting as the recipes. Lots of looks into the cooks' mindset.
Photos: Appetizing photos and cute illustrations.
Techniques & Ingredients: Excellent section of basic ingredients and recipes. Separate section on where to buy.
Recipes: Vary from those with extensive ingredient lists to four ingredients only with blending as the only instruction. Includes alcoholic drinks. There are so many interesting and delicious recipes in this book I'm eager to try.
