I continue to enjoy this author. This one wasn't quite as good as the other two and I think it has to do with how the story was structured. There was a section in the middle where we are just told. They decided to be friends and had some great times. This kind of drops the intensity and interest level. I wish the book had been just a little bit longer to allow for more development of their friendship. I did really enjoy the hero. I like me a nerdy beta hero. The interactions with the heroine and hero were good. I liked how she kept catching him failing at blind dates. I felt like her character wasn't quite as solid as it could have been. I will still be waiting anxiously for more from this author though.… (mais)

Five stars for fulfilling my expectations. I read Lauren Christopher's first book and loved it and waited anxiously for her next book. I was not disappointed. The writing was very well done and it is surprising to me that this is just Ms. Christoper's second book. The characters are real and engaging and the storylines interesting. There wasn't any filler or any boring parts. I learned a little about whales without an overwhelming info dump. I don't need my head filled up with knowledge in a romance but it is always nice to learn a little something. And it is nice to see an author who did some research and slipped it in seamlessly. I loved both main characters, overachieving Lia and poor Evan who is still recovering from his wife and son's tragic deaths. Both of them grew and changed over the course of the story and it was all believable even if it did happen in a fairly short time.

Can't wait for whatever Ms. Christopher writes next.

A lovely contemporary romance. This is older woman younger man but the conflict is not really built around that though it is mentioned. It is more about life styles and what each character thinks they do or do not deserve out of life. The characterization in this novel was stellar. I loved both the hero and the heroine. Fin especially seemed so real. He was vulnerable and sweet but he wasn't beta at all. I really liked him. I liked the heroine too, she was a sweet woman who was used to looking after everyone but herself. She was cool and Grace Kelly like. At first they each wanted to use each other for the surface stereotypical characteristics that each portrayed and when they were faced with who the other actually was was when they fell in love.

The book was well written all around. The secondary characters were great and well drawn too. The world of surfing was a focus in this book but not in the least info dumpy. And that is another thing that made the book so good. The author got all the info in without you really noticing. It was all organic to the story.

I can't wait for more from this debut author.

A love story that was years in the making. When Paige left Lavender Island, she planned to put old hurts, family drama and her teenage crush in the rear view mirror. Her big dreams didn't turn out how she planned and she's returned home with a bruised ego and an idea that she's determined to make work. Too bad a grownup Adam is just as fascinating as the teenage one. Will she risk her heart or will she end up breaking his? Love on Lavender Island is full of difficult choices but it also is about grabbing onto what makes one happy. A cute read about not knowing what you want until you almost lose it. Teaches the importance of being true to oneself.
