The book is very well done. It provides extensive coverage of the subject of early aviation in Serbia. It is part of human nature to want always something more and there is a lot to be researched further. Chapters covering the Balkan wars of 1912-1913 are quite brief. A bit more information about aviation strength and the disposition of the opposing forces on the Balkan theater during the Great War can be added too. RFC and RAF operations are just mentioned. Nevertheless, the book presents the best all over coverage of aerial warfare on the Balkans I know.
The book is very well illustrated with period pictures. Captions were good too. English language readers need to go back and forth through the body of the book, because pictures follow the story in Serbian language part but English language text is on the back.
There are colour illustrations of several aeroplanes but I am in no position to comment on their quality. The pictures got most of my attention.
There are couple of typos and translation errors in the English text but, obviously, this is a generic problem nowadays and I know much worst examples published in English speaking countries.
My wish is to have an opportunity to read books about Bulgarian, Greek, Turkish and Romanian aviation in the early part of 20th century, as good as this one.… (mais)
