In this alphabet book Princess Nina takes readers on a trip through her adventures with the alphabet. She begins her journey by shooting apples off the head of alligators. This would be a great book to use in any classroom to teach alliteration. I teach sixth grade and believe this would be a great mentor text to use. Within each illustration is a list of words not only in the writing but also found in the picture. Great alphabet book and so much more.
Cohen is reviewing from a general Middle Eastern cultural, and specifically a semantic, rather than from a specifically linguistic point of view here. She does say tha the ancient Akkadian language had many dialects and that "Assyrian" is one of them..
She defends the need for an Assyrian Dictionary on the basis of "Mesopotamia" (the modern Iraq) being the site of the first knowledge of many things that we take for granted in modern culture.
So this is not a linguistic point of view of the Dictionary, nor even a thor ough-going philological point of view.… (mais)

Just as mother get to the part about the princess waiting all day for the prince to come the daughter says:

Then the daughter goes on to tell her of all the princesses who are out doing things for themselves and others...
