A well-researched account of the events running up to and during the time period called The Anarchy in England. The text is not a long, dry list of names and events but in a narrative format with the author's comments on the events or quotes from contemporary commenters. The only drawback is the lack of maps of the areas discussed, there are at times a lot of names and places and without a detailed geographical knowledge it is hard to understand who moves where. A small map every here and there in the text with a few arrows to show the troop movement would add to the understanding. Well written and well researched, and recommended to anyone that wants to know more about the time period.… (mais)
