CAN CATS & DOGS GET ALONG?
Edit

Normally I’m leery of books that have less than “polished” covers. Yep, I admit it. I judge books by their covers. (You probably do, too – you’re just not as rude as I am to admit it. Right?!?) However, I try to pick up a few indie &/or newbie authors to read to support their efforts because everyone has to start somewhere, right? Well, I am REALLY glad I picked up Leanne Crabtree’s “Cat’s Wolf”. (And I’m also glad to see on her website – https://leannecrabtree.wordpress.com/ – that she is writing a 2nd book for this shifter romance series!)

Kaitlin (“Cat”) is a jaguar shifter with an uber-controlling father — the Head of the Council. He’s pushing her toward a mating, but one night while out with a friend, she runs into an Alpha wolf, Rhys, who sniffs her out as his mate. “Cat’s Wolf” is a 100+ page novella about if Cat follows Rhys’ nature & her heart… or follows her father’s wishes. Throw in her inability to control her shifts… the fact her mating period (“needing”) is about to come upon her… and that her Dad really isn’t that great of a guy… and you end up with a truly intriguing story.

I try to give it to you straight, just like I’d prefer other reviewers to give it to ME straight (which means I don’t wrack my brain trying to come up with TV announcer style taglines for reviews) – so here are some of my litmus test items:

When I finished the book, was I drawn in enough by the story/characters that I looked to see if there were more in the series? CHECK
Did I feel the digital pricing was fair? CHECK (99 cents for 100+ pages… also in the Kindle Lending Library for Prime members)
Was I able to get through the book without wanting to get out my red pen? (LOL!) CHECK

This is a great paranormal/shifter romance. Some sex but nothing explicitly graphic – “romantica”. Check her out. It’s worth the look-see to read “Cat’s Wolf”!!
