I loved this book, could hardly put it down until I finished. The love story of Meghan Kearny and Devlin Montague is written with enough passion, action, drama, misunderstandings, etc. to keep you entertained, without going overboard or over the top. No rapes (by either the H or the villain, though the V does make a few creepy advances), no prolonged separation or periods of anger and no infidelity. A good example of these books having transitioned (thankfully) from early bodice ripper days.

From the start, when Devlin rescues Meghan from the dark prison of notorious pirate king "The Wolf", (though mistakenly thinking it was his fiancee, Rosalind he was rescuing), to the finish, where once again he comes to the rescue (though Meghan thought up a good escape plan, as well), and everything in between (like the subplot love story of Devlin's sister Linette and Charles, his good friend and distant cousin of Meghan's, Meghan's two attempts to get away from Devlin and how they backfire, and Meghan's frustration at Devlin's refusal to believe the story of her true identity), "Sweet Saint Bridget", (as Meghan would say) you won't be sorry you read this one.… (mais)
