Skylar Robbins is quite a plucky girl. She's 12 and is really into detective work. I enjoyed reading about how she solved her case and learned how to stand up for herself. It is geared to middle grades, but, based on the reviews, adults also seem to enjoy it. I know I did! There's spells and incantations and such in the book. Almost every chapter ends on a little cliffhanger that makes you HAVE to turn the page and see what happens next. Give this book a try. Such a strange book. It is like a middle grade Nancy Drew, so the amount of romance is a little odd. Her family seems bizarrely rich, but other than that it is super fun
What a refreshing change of pace about a teen aged girl learning the hard life lesson! I truly felt sorry for Gwendolyn, but what she did to her cousin and classmates was inexcusable. What a shame that it had to be this way as teenagers can be so horrible to others, but I'm glad that I can add another name to my newsletter request! Hopefully kids as well as adults can learn that revenge is not the way.
