This is an insanely exciting read!! That is, if you’re ok with not-vampires quickly overtaking the world with their lust for blood. There’s romance, rival gangs, death, destruction, and deception. Maybe even redemption?

We all know people react differently when the news reports on frightening events. Some people are non-believers, thinking the media is exaggerating. Some people overreact and go into hiding or evacuate to safer areas. While other people just wait and see if the threat will head their way. The reports become difficult to ignore when the media outlets are no longer broadcasting anything. Pandemic. Virus. By this point, does it even matter? Is it too late to react?

As with any disaster, phone calls begin crisscrossing the nation before the crisis is even over. Families hoping to hear the voices of loved ones. Then what? How much longer will they be safe? How much longer will you be safe?

I loved reading this book. The fast pace kept me from putting it down. I had to know what happened next. I had to know if Kate found her way into the arms of her love. She is one special girl!! Harry was an amazing character. I love his happily ever after. There were a few characters I didn’t like, but isn’t that true in most books? You need to have a couple people you hope will get killed off, or seriously maimed.

Book two of the Suckers Trilogy was filled with just as much excitement as the first, but was laced with more emotional turmoil. The cause of the turmoil is a huge spoiler so I’ll try my best to share my anxiety carefully.

**If you haven’t read book one, the following will be considered SPOILERS**

I hope you all paid attention to the end of the first book because this one begins 10 years later. The world was provided with vaccinations against the virus which had caused all the problems to begin with. It doesn’t take too much imagination to realize not everyone has been located for vaccinating. It also doesn’t take further imagination to understand it won’t work on everyone.

But what about the babies?? Early on in this story we learn the answer to that question. Baby Sue is now a 10-year-old young lady. A series of awful events lead to the heart of the story. I spent most of the read on the monster of all emotional rollercoasters. I was angry, then hopeful. Frustrated beyond belief, then confused and hopeful again. Throw in some heartbreak and a bit of relief.

I loved reading this book. The ending was a mix of happy and sad. Sue’s future looks ... Kate and Charlie appear to be ... I was sad when “he” died. I was happy when the other “he” died. I will continue to mourn until the final book in this trilogy comes out.

This is the final book of the Suckers Trilogy. So worth the wait!

I loved the way the story began. With the creatively written reminders (without being obvious reminders) I caught up quickly making the story more pleasurable.

Kate’s work with SAMM, Suckers Acceptance Movement in Maine, has received national recognition. There will always be haters, but the wins have been making sucker life more enjoyable.

Then, of course, tragedy strikes. Kate’s world was flipped up-side-down. The strength of family bonds, and a couple new characters, are the only means of keeping her sane. She is capable of going from despondent to furious in minutes, so be careful.

Tom is an enigma. Kate’s feelings towards him never waver, but those who know him throw warning signals left and right. Ok, that’s putting it lightly. Her friends instruct her to stay away from him. Personally, I’m kind of crushing on the man.

Kate’s sister is also excited about a new addition to their world. Detective Grayson may not be Kate’s favorite person, but Julie feels otherwise. It’s been fun watching the trio navigate the waters.

My favorite twist was...

I love a good prequel.

Scientists. Can’t leave well enough alone.

Leaders. Can’t make decisions based on self interests.

Pandemics spread quickly out of control.
