This might as well have been written this year.
It gets really into the 1980's farm crisis and it's roots, as well as how hate groups found fertile organizing ground among ex-farmers.
I tagged it for PA because, even though it doesn't make a mention, it might was well be here.

Beginning in the late 1970s, green sea turtles were appearing in very high numbers with tumors on them. Turtles in Hawaii, Florida and the Caribbean, independently. There weren’t many, but there were a few, who wanted to find out what was causing this.
Sea turtles (or any turtles) are one animal I’ve not read much about. Although, this was more about digging to find what was causing the tumors. (I’ll give you two (broad) guesses and the first one doesn’t count.) This book was published in 2001; I can’t imagine things have gotten better in the meantime. This has been on my tbr for ages – I have no idea why it took me so long to read it.… (mais)

Hard to get into, so much history to understand before you can get to the story. But still worth the read. The movie is far simpler, not so much history into the area, got right to the story of the characters.

This book is full of well-researched facts and reads like an educational article. About 2/3rds the way through, the reader finally begins to see how C.P. and Ann could start to become friends. Most of the time when reading, I couldn’t imagine how that would happen. This book would be important for everyone to read and understand. The race issues continue today.
